Politicians: Physical therapy saving million in healthcare dollars?

Evidence based practice

I was watching 60 Minutes the other night and while the main topic of the piece was about Americans and end of life, I was more focused on some of the comments about the cost of health care. If you read past news feeds, you probably will get my drift when I say that patients seeing a physical therapist first can save all kinds of money.

There is solid evidence (click here to view some of them), high-quality, medical research, that concludes that we can help people out without the need of expensive tests, injections, prescriptions, or surgeries.

I simply wanted to make the statement again, especially as I listen to America's top economic analysts discuss the ever increasing costs of health care.

Here is a link to the 60 Minutes story. It's quite interesting.
